"The King's Speech" is the biggest winner of Screen Actors Guild Awards!

Colin Firth, Helena Bonham Carter, and Geoffrey Rush presenting "The King's Speech" at Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Tom Hooper's critically acclaimed "The King's Speech" snatched the biggest award of tonight's Screen Actors Guld Awards (SAG Awards) as Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture—or shortly Best Movie! Colin Firth, leading actor of "The King's Speech" also won Best Actor, beating Jeff Bridges for "True Grit", Jesse Eisenberg for "The Social Network", Robert Duvall for "Get Low", and James Franco for "127 Hours". While the Best Actress went to "Black Swan" leading lady Natalie Portman.

Another big winners are the cast of "The Fighter", in which Christian Bale (the birthday boy—he's officially 37 tonight!) and Melissa Leo named as Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress respectively. Both were also the winners of Best Supporting roles in the previous Golden Globe Awards.

As for the television category, Best Comedy went to "Modern Family" (which surprisingly beat the favorited nominee "Glee"), while the Best Drama went to "Boardwalk Empire". Alec Baldwin and Betty White were Best Actors in Comedy Series. Steve Buschemi, who previously won Best Actor for Television Series in Golden Globe also won Best Actor for Drama TV Series, while the Best Actress was Julianna Margulies. Click "Read More" for full winner list.

Congratulations for all the winners! This speculates that "The King's Speech" might be the strongest candidate to win in the next award show, Orange British Academy Film Awards (or the BAFTAs), or even the Academy Awards.

Another personal note to myself: I need to see "The King's Speech" real soon. Before the Oscars!

Introducing the new Superman, Henry Cavill!

Finally after months and months of speculation on who's going to replace Brandon Routh as the man of steel in the upcoming Zack Snyder's reboot, Warner Bros Pictures and Legendary Pictures officially announced that British actor Henry Cavill got the role, as reported by Movie Web!

"In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time, and I am honored to be a part of his return to the big screen. I also join Warner Bros., Legendary and the producers in saying how excited we are about the casting of Henry. He is the perfect choice to don the cape and S shield," said Snyder.

What's more exciting about this movie is that Christopher Nolan (yes, that director of "The Dark Knight" and "Inception" who didn't get the cut in this year's Oscars as Best Director) will take part as one of the producers along with Charles Roven, Emma Thomas, and Snyder's spouse Deborah Snyder. David S. Goyer is the screenwriter, based on a story by himself and Nolan!

Cavill is famous of his role in television series "The Tudors" as Charles Brandon. He also starred in "Tristan + Isolde", Woody Allen's "Whatever Works", and "Stardust". His upcoming movie is "The Cold Light of Day" and "Immortals", to be released this year. Cavill beat other Superman candidates and you might recognize these famous names; Matthew Goode (who previously worked with Snyder in "Watchmen"), Matthew Bomer (star of television series "White Collar"), Armie Hammer (that "Social Network" hottie twins), Joe Manganiello (the werewolf of "True Blood"), and Colin O'Donaghue (who currently starred in "The Rite" with Anthony Hopkins).

The reboot of Superman, which will be titled "Man of Steel", is out 2012.

Marvel Heroes quickfix: new on-set photo of "X-Men: First Class" and web-swinging set video of "Spider-Man"

"X-Men: First Class" on-set photo by fan
Thanks to Coming Soon, there's a never-before-seen on-set photo of "X-Men: First Class" featuring Jennifer Lawrence (Raven Darkholme), James McAvoy (Professor Charles Xavier), Oliver Platt (Man In Black), and Rose Byrne (Dr. Moira MacTaggert). The photo was taken during the filming in Los Angeles, even though I have no idea when is it taken.

The Spider-Man is swinging on the road!
Let's go to another Marvel hero, Spider-Man! Check out the video taken by a fan in January 26, during the filming of 2012's "Untitled Spider-Man Reboot", where Spidey is swinging around the road above a truck. The scene looks scary but Spidey is alright. The first three Spidey movies are all awesome, and I just can't wait to see his action in 3D! (In another note, I'm not sure if that was Andrew Garfield in the Spidey suit.)

New "I Am Number Four" stills and tv spots!

Are you a sci-fi romance movie lover? Well then this movie, "I Am Number Four", will suit you! Starring the British hunk (and Burberry model) Alex Pettyfer and "Glee"'s sweetheart Dianna Agron, it tells about an alien with codename Number Four escaping from his planet to the earth and fall in love with a gorgeous-blonde human named Sarah. This might sound "Twilight"-ish but I'm sure it will be more 'action' since D.J. Caruso is the director (do you remember how he made us breathless in Shia LaBeouf starring movie "Eagle Eye" and "Disturbia"?).

Check out the new stills and television spots of "I Am Number Four" below, thanks to Movie Web!

Quickfix: Saoirse Ronan joins "The Hobbit", Judi Dench returns in "Bond 23", Minka Kelly and Rachael Taylor are the new "Charlie's Angels"

Saoirse Ronan goes epic in "The Hobbit"
New cast addition for "The Hobbit"! Academy Award nominee Saoirse Ronan has been confirmed to join in, according to its casting director Ros Hubbard. Hubbard said that Saoirse's family will go with her to New Zealand as well, where the filming takaes place. "Working with Peter Jackson is like working with family. Everyone is very close and very loving on those sorts of jobs.  It's not like typical studio movies at all," said Hubbard. However there's no confirmation about what part she's going to play. This will be Saoirse's second movie directed by Peter Jackson, as she previously worked with him in "The Lovely Bones". In another "The Hobbit" news, this production is slightly delayed due to Jackson's medical concern post-surgery, but it's still expected to begin soon.

Judi Dench reprised her role as "M" in "Bond 23"
James Bond's fans should be cheering on the return of the legendary franchise. After Daniel Craig confirmed that he'll be back as the British secret agent, MI6, the James Bond fansite, confirmed that Judi Dench will reprise her role as Bond's 'mighty' boss M. Sam Mendes will direct this MGM production movie, and it is scheduled to release on November 9, 2012 in USA.

Minka Kelly and Rachael Taylor join "Charlie's Angels" TV pilot
These two are likely to star alongside the first-selected angel, Annie Ilonzeh (from "General Hospital"), in the upcoming ABC program "Charlie's Angels". According to reports, Minka will play Marissa, a former US Marine and a high-skilled weapons expert (and a neat freak as well!), Annie will play Kate, and Rachael will play Abby, the youngest and sassiest one who's the daughter of a Wall Street crook. This television series is produced by Drew Barrymore, the actress who portrayed Dylan Sanders in "Charlie's Angels" and "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" movies.

Why Felicity Jones or Riley Keough will make a better "Snow White" than Kristen Stewart

There has been a talk about who's going to star as Snow White in "Snow White and the Huntsman". Kristen Stewart is reportedly the strongest candidate to do so, even though other actresses have been claimed to try out; Felicity Jones, Riley Keough, and Emily Browning. Kristen, because of her "Twilight" fame, reportedly didn't have to do any screen test. Well it's a great step for Kristen to take off her "Twilight" persona, and even her indie-girl image, because this will be her first 'major studio' role.

I admire Kristen in her movies outside of "Twilight" universe. "Adventureland", "Into the Wild", "Panic Room", and "The Runaways"—she nailed her parts. One thing about her is that she could bring 'reality' to the character she played, she almost didn't fake it. Even though we all agree that she always played the same role over and over again (some kind of awkward and 'hard-core' type of girl), she could make us relate to her characters.

But speaking of Snow White, well, I must say, she doesn't fit the part. I don't know if Rupert Sanders, the director, will make a darker and edgy version of Snow White (like Tim Burton did in "Alice in Wonderland" or Catherine Hardwicke in her upcoming "Red Riding Hood"), but we all surely want an expressive and 'girly' Snow White. I know Kristen is a professional and she might accept any kind of challenge for her roles, but even she didn't do well in portraying Bella Swan. I read all "Twilight" novel and I thought Bella was supposed to be awkward-but-friendly, and Kristen didn't bring it all out. From what I saw in the movie, Bella was rather a zombie girl—dead eyes and dead soul.

Choosing an actress only for her fame won't do anything right. It might be 'attractive' commercially, but it's a shame if they don't put the substance upfront. So here I'd love present my proposal of which actress will be the best to portray Snow White from the audition: Felicity Jones and Riley Keough.

Felicity Jones is a 26-years-old British actress who started her career as a television series star in England. The Hollywood started to put an eye on her in 2010 hit "The Tempest" (which is also nominated for an Oscar), and recently she stole the heart of Sundance audience in the critically-acclaimed indie hit "Like Crazy" opposite Anton Yelchin and Jennifer Lawrence. Physically, people agree that she embodies all the Snow White remarks. Pale and flawless white skin, dark brown hair, and a pair of expressive big brown eyes.

Riley Keough, who's known as a supermodel rather than actress, is the granddaughter of legendary Elvis Prestley. She made her acting debut alongside Kristen Stewart in "The Runaways", as Marie Currie, sister of Dakota Fanning's character Cherry Currie. She's currently in talks to star in "Mad Max: Fury Road", and have two new movies come up this year, "The Good Doctor" and "Yellow". She may not be familiar enough for us, but we can't get away from the fact that she has a statuesque face that every Disney princess needs.

Quickfix: Michael Fassbender joins "Prometheus", new poster of "Ceremony"

Michael Fassbender will star in Ridley Scott's "Prometheus"
The new Magneto in upcoming "X-Men: First Class", Michael Fassbender, is reportedly official to join "Prometheus". This is a movie about the prequel of classic "Alien" trilogy, will be directed by Ridley Scott. Before Michael, "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo"'s star Naomi Rapace has been signed in first. The movie has received its official release date, on June 8, 2012. I must admit when I was little, I never get bored of watching the "Alien" movies—I don't even know why. Maybe this was the beginning of why I love science fiction movies!

New poster of "Ceremony" featuring Uma Thurman and Michael Angarano
A new drama movie directed by Max Winkler, "Ceremony", has released its official poster (thanks to Moviefone and Magnolia Pictures)! Starring Uma Thurman, Michael Angarano, and Lee Pace, this movie tells a story about a young guy named Sam Davis (Angarano) who approaches a documentary filmmaker Whit Coutell (Pace), only to rekindle his romantic relationship with Coutell's wife, Zoe (Thurman). Hmm... A wedding crasher? Sounds interesting! "Ceremony" will hit theatre in April 8.

Can't get enough of "Sucker Punch"!

For those who have read this blog from the start might notice that I'm looking forward to this movie, "Sucker Punch", very much! I've been admiring Zack Snyder since "300", and not questioning about his mastery in graphics and special effects ever since. As for "Sucker Punch", I don't know if this movie will be substantial but I am so attracted to its super cool trailer.

Now the character posters have been released, and they look awesome. It's actually a bit old news, but I post it in case you haven't seen them. Mark your calendar for Snyder's masterpiece, March 25, starring Emily Browning, Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone, Jamie Chung, and Vanessa Hudgens!

"Never Say Never" and "Winnie The Pooh" got G rating from MPAA
Cheers for all Justin Bieber fans, you all have the rights to watch Justin's upcoming 3D movie "Never Say Never". MPAA has given a General viewing rating for this movie, as did to Disney's new "Winnie The Pooh" movie. Catch "Never Say Never" in February 11, and "Winnie The Pooh" in July 15.

"The Hunger Games" gets its official release date!
One of the most anticipated book-to-movie adaptation "The Hunger Games", finally gets an official release date! Lionsgate, the movie distributor, confirmed the movie will be released in March 23, 2012. Gary Ross has been appointed to adapt Suzanne Collin's best-selling novel.

The "Source Code" poster finally comes out!

Thanks to Yahoo! Movies, we now have the official poster of "Source Code", as released by Summit Entertainment. It's so exciting because I miss watching Jake Gyllenhaal in an action movie!

Here's a short description of "Source Code" from its Yahoo! Movies page:
When decorated soldier Captain Colter Stevens wakes up in the body of an unknown man, he discovers he's part of a mission to find the bomber of a Chicago commuter train. In an assignment unlike any he's ever known, he learns he's part of a government experiment called the "Source Code," a program that enables him to cross over into another man's identity in the last 8 minutes of his life. With a second, much larger target threatening to kill millions in downtown Chicago, Colter re-lives the incident over and over again, gathering clues each time, until he can solve the mystery of who is behind the bombs and prevent the next attack.
And here's the movie trailer:

"Source Code" is directed by Duncan Jones, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Monaghan, and Vera Farmiga. To be released worldwide April 1, 2011!

The Academy Award nominations: "The King's Speech" leads with 12 noms, "True Grit" with 10 noms, both "Inception" and "The Social Network" for 8 noms!

Finally! The Oscar aka Academy Awards nominations have been announced! The British masterpiece "The King's Speech" leads the Oscar with 12 nominations, followed by "True Grit" with 10 nominations, and then "Inception" and "The Social Network" with 8 nominations each. Other favorites like "Black Swan", "The Fighter", and "Toy Story 3" are also included. Here are the complete nomination list, plus my favorites to win!

"Tron 3" teaser trailer coming soon!

Well, apparently my prayer to God to give me some more science fiction movies has come true. According to an exclusive leaky information from Ain't It Cool News (this is why I love that site so much!), there will be a sneak-peek to "Tron 3" inside "Tron: Legacy" DVD and Blu-Ray, due to out this year in March!

Here are the leaky details:
  • "One includes Bruce Boxleitner (as Alan) and Dan Shor (as Ram). Turns out that "Ram" was apparently running the FLYNN LIVES campaign and he's frantically destroying all of that data and files, as Alan confronts him. Dan apparently utters the line, "Why did Kevin give you the cool name" - which means to my way of thinking that after Flynn came out of the Grid, he sought out the human soul of Ram and befriended him and started calling him RAM - you know - some geek that wrote that Actuarial Program that helped people plan for the future. I sorta love that. And love that the kindness Flynn showed this lowly geek, apparently created a gung ho champion for the life and memory of Kevin Flynn."
  • "Another has Quora showing up to ENCOM and getting acousted by the press because she's riding Sam's Ducati - and states that she just spoke with Kevin Flynn, yesterday!"
  • "The last scene that was shot in this mini-shoot involved text screens where you see the Father & Son... The Dillingers stating that everything is going as planned."
I haven't watched the first "Tron", but I have to say I enjoyed "Tron: Legacy" despite its predictable story line. This is such a breakthrough, because I couldn't feel more 'sci-fi' after watching it. Hopefully the third "Tron" will be 'heavier' in storyline and 'more sophisticated' in special effects! (And I wish Daft Punk will do the scoring again. The "Tron: Legacy" soundtrack is too awesome to be true!)

There'll be no "The Matrix" 3D sequels, apparently

This is such a bummer, because I was really excited that "The Matrix" would have 3D sequels—which undoubtfully will be amazing because they were all looking great in 2D. A rep of Keanu Reeves confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that, "None of it is true."

As a science-fiction fan I desperately need movies like "The Matrix". I know Zack Snyder will likely pull something like that off in "Sucker Punch" later this year in March, but it was more graphic and artsy. "The Matrix" was scientific and hi-tech, with a pretty nice storyline.

I'm praying that The Wachowski Brothers will change their mind soon.

Here comes the Razzie Awards nominations!

Finally! The ultimate anti-Oscar 'appreciation', Razzie Awards, has announced its nominations for worst of the worst movies last year. And as most people have predicted, "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" and "Vampires Suck" dominate the entire worst nominations. "The Last Airbender", "Jonah Hex", and "Sex and the City 2" are also on it. Here are the complete nominations and my own predictions on who's going to be called the worst.

Chris Hemsworth talks "The Avengers" and Jeremy Renner's cameo in "Thor"

The star of upcoming "Thor" movie, Chris Hemsworth, attended the Sundance Film Festival and talked a bit about "The Avengers" script in which he will star next year, and about Jeremy Renner's cameo appearance in "Thor".

"Everything about the story and the comic books is huge. You have these huge, big superheroes and huge, big egos crammed into one small space," he said. "Reading the script, it was massive. Everything about it was like, 'Oh my god.' I said to Joss, I said, 'I don't know how you're going to shoot this thing [laughs], but I'm excited to be onboard and let's give it a go."

Chris admitted that he has no idea about how is Jeremy's appearance in "Thor" because they actually didn't meet on the set.

"I don't know if he's in 'Thor.' I haven't seen the cut yet, and he wasn't on set when I was there, but he may be in the final one. He's certainly in 'The Avengers.' I had a chat with him at Comic-Con and he's as excited as the rest of us."

Catch Chris in "Thor" which will be released in May 6, 2011 in USA, and April 28 for South East Asia region, Malaysia and Singapore. I do hope Indonesia will have the same release date as those two countries! Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Kat Dennings, Stellan Skarsgaard, Idris Elba, and Ray Stevenson will also star in Kenneth Branagh directed movie.

News Roundup: from "Kick-Ass 2", "Captain America", and more of "The Matrix" sequels!

Time for a news roundup, quick fix for what's new in the movie industry. I think I might have to post this feature very often so I can reach and inform the up-to-date news, that may not just my favorites. Not exactly not-my-favorites, but more like not-my-concerns (even though I do put concerns in the movies I mention below). Ready, set, here we go!

There's no "Kick-Ass 2" at anytime soon

Yeah I can hear you screamed "boo!" or "oh nooo!" from your place. Following the success of the first "Kick-Ass" last year, we all speculated that the sequel is on its way, even "Kick-Ass 2: Balls To The Wall" has been listed to IMDb (as well as Aaron Johnson's page—from my stalking mission) and to be released in 2012.

Unfortunately Jane Goldman, the writer confirmed through her twitter that she is not working on the script for "Kick-Ass 2". She said that she has two projects to do, and then she'll be working again with Matthew Vaughn, the"Kick-Ass" director, but it's unlikely to be "Kick-Ass 2". FYI, Jane is also the writer for Matthew's upcoming "X-Men: First Class".

I love the first "Kick-Ass" movie, I think it's bloody funny! So at the end of the movie it was showed that Christopher Mintz-Plasse will take revenge as the Red Mist 2.0 (well I don't know what to call it) so it implied that there will be a sequel. But apparently we have to wait until unknown period of time.

"Captain America" changes title in South Korea, Ukraine, and Russia

I don't know if this is political, but the name "Captain America" is apparently 'offensive' for those three countries, according to the market research from LA Times. Eventually Paramount Pictures, the distributor, has to drop "Captain America" from the title, and simply calls it "The First Avenger". The movie title is originally titled "Captain America: The First Avenger".

Possible 3D sequels for "The Matrix"!

Hello all Keanu Reeves and "The Matrix" trilogy fans! Thanks to Ain't It Cool News, we got some 'sneak peek' about Keanu's future projects, and it includes... (drumroll please) sequels for his classic sci-fi trilogy "The Matrix"!

At the London School of Performing Arts speech in which he was a guest speaker, Keanu talked about the possibility of "The Matrix" sequels. He said that he met The Wachowski Brothers, the geniuses behind "The Matrix", to discuss a two-movie script which would bring him back to "The Matrix" universe.

Another exciting part is that The Wachowski had visited James Cameron discussing to produce the films in 3D. Wait, what? "The Matrix" in 3D? Sounds about right to me!

No Jonah Jameson for "Spider-Man" reboot. WHAT?!?

This isn't a delightful news for me (and probably other Spider-Man fans), that one of the scene-stealer of the previous Spider-Man movies, the editor in chief of Daily Bugle, J. Jonah Jameson, won't be featured in the upcoming reboot. This news hasn't been confirmed yet, but it has spread all over the internet.

Why disappointing? Jameson put a lot of energy to the movie, with his caustic sense of humor by labeling Spidey as the "Masked Menace", but truthfully he realizes that the city does need Spidey. J.K. Simmons, the actor who portrayed Jameson on Sam Raimi's trilogy, did a really great job. He never failed to make the audience laugh. He's just the perfect man!

I tried not to freak out after hearing this news, because according to many people who commented in this Movie Web post, Jameson hadn't appeared yet in the Ultimate Spider-Man comics. If the movie is set to play a high schooler Peter Parker, then he won't be working at the Daily Bugle at anytime soon. Even so, in a few on-set photos leaked a couple of days ago, the Daily Bugle van was indeed showed on the street.

For that reason, I think I can understand. But it also leaves me wondering on who will replacing the awesome J.K. Simmons. I don't think anyone can pull off what he did. At least not yet.

MROTW: Seize the Day with "Dead Poets Society"

Here comes the first weekly movie recommendation of Nita’s Movie Diary! First of all, please note that this feature is not a new movie review. This is simply a movie recommendation for those who are looking for an idea of a movie to watch, so the genre and year of release will be random. One thing for sure, I will recommend only the critically-acclaimed ones, which quality is approved by the top movie critics.

“Dead Poets Society” is, I think, the perfect first choice of this feature. If you ask me why I choose this movie, I’ll simply answer, what’s not to like? I personally love drama movies that are set in prep school emphasizing the educational circumstances and moral story; moreover, employing good looking actors to play the smart, unique, and witty students. From this brief reasoning, “Dead Poets Society” has it all.

Mia Wasikowska joins Shia LaBeouf in "The Wettest County In The World"

The "Alice In Wonderland" star is reportedly joining the cast of "The Wettest County In The World" along side Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, and Jessica Chastain, according to Variety. The John Hillcoat's directed movie will start filming in a few weeks in Atlanta.

This project was previously reported 'dead', as the rumored casts Ryan Gosling and Amy Adams dropped out their roles. But then a couple of months ago, reports said that Tom Hardy will join Shia LaBeouf, one of the remaining casts, as followed by Jessica Chastain. Now that Mia Wasikowska takes another role, there's no way that this project is 'not alive'.

This movie is adapted from Matt Bondurant novel in the same title, tells about a crime drama set in the Depression era bootleggers in American South. It is to be released in 2012.

Anne Hathaway will star in "The Dark Knight Rises" and "Glee"!

Calling all Anne Hathaway fans to squee together with me! The Academy Award-nominated actress has officially joined the cast of "The Dark Knight Rises", as the legendary Batman's love interest/enemy Selina Kyle, the Catwoman! Reports said earlier that she was in fact included in the shortlist along with notably Jessica Biel, Keira Knightley, and Eva Green. And finally Anne nailed the role. Congratulations Anne, can't be more excited to watch "The Dark Knight Rises"!

Another news from this movie, the "Inception" star Tom Hardy will also join the cast, as another Batman enemy Bane (this character was previously featured in "Batman and Robin"—the most 'unfortunate' Batman installment despite George Clooney, Chris O'Donnel, Alicia Silverstone, and Uma Thurman were being cast). This will be the second time for Tom to work with Christopher Nolan after "Inception".

Can't get enough of Anne Hathaway? Here's another exciting news: Ryan Murphy, the creator of the Golden Globe and Emmy winning television series "Glee", has confirmed that Anne will be guest starring as Kurt Hummel's (as played by Chris Colfer) lesbian aunt in a future episode.

If you're wondering why am I so enthusiastic about this Anne news, is that I actually see her 'grow up' through her movies. Caught her for the first time in "The Princess Diaries" during my junior high school sophomore year, I was attracted to her immediately since she's so endearing! In 2005 she started to go out of her shell, by starring in an R-rated movie "Havoc" (a lot of nudity, she was labeled as 'Disney Princess gone wild' back then), and then the critically-acclaimed ones "Brokeback Mountain" and "Rachel Getting Married", in which she received her first Academy Award nomination.

But she never put aside her inevitable comedy persona, by starring in "Get Smart" with Steve Carrell and "Bride Wars" with Kate Hudson. Last year, she appeared alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in a Golden Globe nominee comedy "Love and Other Drugs", and was nominated as Best Actress as well. Knowing that she'll make her way in a bigger blockbuster as "The Dark Knight Rises", it is a prove that her career won't go away anytime soon!

Keira Knightley will join Robert Pattinson in "Cosmopolis"

Photo taken from: sweet-keira.net
Finally, an update from my most favorite actress Keira Knightley! It was an absolute disappointment that she wouldn't reprise her role as Elizabeth Swann-Turner in the upcoming "Pirates Of The Caribbean" installment, but her career is surely still on-going, albeit being involved in non-blockbuster projects, it's in a more serious way. Last year she appeared in the Kazuo Ishiguro's novel-adapted movie, "Never Let Me Go", alongside Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfield and "Last Night" with French actor Guillaume Cannet. The former was fairly made and attracted many critics (I already have the movie in my hard disk, unfortunately it's in HD and my laptop isn't able to execute any type of HD movies smoothly, so it's a big alas). I haven't seen nor found any info about the latter, but will do so very soon.

The exciting news is that Keira is officially signed in to David Cronenberg upcoming drama thriller "Cosmopolis", replacing Marion Cottilard who was first chosen to play the role. Last month, it was announced that Robert Pattinson took the leading role as Eric Packer, a multimillionaire from Manhattan. Keira reportedly will play as Eric's wife, even though I haven't found any information about her role name.

I love the fact that Robert is going to take off his Edward Cullen and "Twilight" persona very soon as the movie franchise will come to an end next year. I've always believed that he's actually a great actor yet unfortunate, because most people have turned their backs on Robert due to his overexposed and obnoxious Hollywood frenzy. Seeing Robert and Keira in a movie has been my 'wild unfulfilled cinematic dream', proven by this artwork I made a couple of years ago.

Yeah I'm not that artsy when it comes to 'photoshopping'. But their faces are just so 'classily British' and good looking—I couldn't help to put them together in a picture! And now the dream has come true, they'll be in the same movie. YES!
Colin Farrel was initially set to play Eric at the first place, but due to his scheduling conflicts it finally went to Robert Pattinson. This movie will be released in 2012 with no further info about the release date, and it will likely to start filming very soon.

The "X-Men: First Class" are Here!

First of all, I am so sorry for the lack updates. My internet device was broken and apparently it took more than three days for the ISP company to send a technician and fix it. It's not that I was too lazy to go to an internet cafe, it's been raining real hard almost every day here. It was also disadvantaging for me since I got left out of many interesting news.

One of them is the official poster release of my most awaited movie this year, "X-Men: First Class". This image depicts the logo of Professor Xavier's exclusive mutant school. Looks awesome!

And then there was also a photo of the "X-Men: First Class" cast in full make up and costume. This photo turned out to be a fake, even Matthew Vaughn, the director, thought that it was badly 'photoshopped'. Nevertheless, it pretty much described the characters, and I thought it's pretty cool. Check the photo below:

From left to right: Michael Fassbander as Magneto, Rose Byrne as Dr. Moira MacTaggert, January Jones as Emma Frost, Jason Flemying as Azazel, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Lucas Till as Havok, Zoe Kravitz as Angel Salvadore, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, and James McAvoy as Professor X.

But then finally a bunch of official stills have been released, take a look!

"The Social Network" won Best Picture at Los Angeles Film Critics Association

Andrew Garfield at Los Angeles
Film Association Awards event.
Oops, "The Social Network" did it again! The Los Angeles Film Critics Association awarded the Best Picture to the David Fincher's directed movie last night, as well as Best Screenplay for Aaron Sorkin. The Best Director award was given to two tied-winners, David Fincher and Olivier Assayas for "Carlos", which was the runner-up for Best Picture. Another tied-award for "The Social Network" is Best Music Score for Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross along with Alexandre Displat for "The Ghost Writer".

Colin Firth and Kim Hye-Ja were the Best Actor and Actress respectively, with Edgar Ramirez from "Carlos" and Jennifer Lawrence from "Winter's Bone" as the runner-ups. "Toy Story 3" won Best Animation, while "Inception" won only an award for Best Production Design. Please click here for the full list of LAFCA winners.

After LAFCA Awards ended, the stars were gathered in a Golden Globes afternoon tea in an event held by cooperation of BAFTA/LA. The Golden Globes nominees were having a good time even though they will be contending tomorrow at the award show. From Jeff Bridges, Jeremy Renner, Nicole Kidman, Diane Warren (composer of "Burlesque"), Jane Lynch, Tom Hooper (director of "The King's Speech"), Vanessa Williams, Ryan Gosling, and Michelle Williams were spotted spending a nice time together.

"The King's Speech" director Tom Hooper with Andrew Garfield at the BAFTA/LA Awards Season Tea at Four Seasons. Both are nominated for Golden Globes Award, aired tomorrow.

Andrew Garfield (hmm, yeah, my favorite), who's nominated as Best Supporting Actor at the Golden Globes, was spotted with his British actor pal Eddie Redmayne (star of "The Yellow Handkerchief" and "Pillars Of The Earth"). "It's nice being in a room with such inspiring, wonderful people to talk to," Andrew said. He also expressed he couldn't believe that he's been invited to attend such honorable award shows ever since "The Social Network" came out to a blast.

Trust me Andrew, if you keep playing like you did in "The Social Network", "Boy A", and "Never Let Me Go", they will keep inviting and nominating you to those great award shows until you become a grandfather.
