Quick Fix: there's a chance for Robin, Lois Lane, and Cobie Smulders!

Today's quick fix is still related to the upcoming superhero movie projects! I think I've been a bit obsessed with it, but nothing more exciting than these news. So here we go!

Will "The Dark Knight Rises" bring on Robin?
As you have found out at the start of February, "Inception" star Joseph Gordon-Levitt is joining "The Dark Knight Rises" even though his role is still 'kept in secret'. People speculated that Joseph will play The Riddler (which previously was played by Jim Carrey), since they think a Catwoman (Anne Hathaway) and Bane (Tom Hardy) won't be 'enough' to fight the Batman. But then the fans started to gear up that Joseph might be portraying Batman's long time sidekick, Robin, even though they also argued that he's somehow too old to play this part. Afterall, Christian Bale himself has stated that if they included Robin in this movie then he'll likely 'walk away' from this project. This news hasn't been confirmed yet, but I think it's a really cool thing if Robin finally brought up. The last time we saw Robin in Batman movies was in "Batman & Robin", which was deemed as the 'worst' Batman movie ever, despite George Clooney playing the leading man.

Lois Lane will still be featured in "Man of Steel"
Superman's one true love Lois Lane will likely still be featured in the "Man of Steel" reboot, as news are gearing up that one of Superman's lady villain from the Krypton, Ursa, will make a come-back. So here's what fuzzing around these days: Diane Kruger, Alice Eve, and Rosamund Pike were the front-runners to play a leading female role in "Man of Steel", which is NOT Lois Lane. But I don't think they will star as Lana Lang either, because it just simply doesn't fit. So all Lois & Clark fans (including me) started to get disappointed, because our very own OTP won't be on the movie. Thankfully, there was a bit relief yesterday, that WB Pictures were actually casting those actresses to play Ursa. She is Zod's right-hand woman from both the original 1978 Superman and 1981's Superman II, which was played by British actress Sarah Douglas opposite Terence Stamp's General Zod. Another great news is that Lois Lane is definitely in the current draft of the script and will have a major part in this Zack Snyder-directed movie.

One step closer for Cobie Smulders to join "The Avengers"
My favorite cast from "How I Met Your Mother", Cobie Smulders, is reportedly this close to play Maria Hill, the ruthless interim executive director of SHIELD, who was not above blackmailing and bullying superheros to get her way. She was eventually supplanted in that top job by Tony Stark aka Iron Man. As with all Marvel movies, the deal comes with a pile of options for appearances in future superhero films. So it's pretty far from a speculation that she will play Jane van Dyke, but still, this character has a pretty big impact in "The Avengers" movie. The production will start filming in April, and the movie will be released in May 4, 2012 distributed by Disney.

Four Lovely Ladies are in try-outs to play a spy character in "The Avengers"

Cobie Smulders
More news about one of the most awaited superhero movies in 2012 (besides "The Dark Knight Rises" and "Spider-Man" of course!), "The Avengers"!

Marvel announced that they will have screen-tests for a final supporting character in the upcoming Joss Whedon-directed movie "The Avengers". As explained by Samuel L. Jackson on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, they are currently looking for a key member of espionage agency by Nick Fury (the character played by Jackson). People speculated that the role will be an Avenger member Janet van Dyne/ The Wasp, but Marvel hasn't confirmed anything about this.

Jessica Lucas
The four names on the list are: Morena Baccarin, Jessica Lucas, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Cobie Smulders. Not so familiar with their names? Well then let me introduce them to you.

Morena Baccarin worked with Whedon in the sci-fi TV series "Firefly", and is set to star in the movie version of it, "Serenity". She's quite known in US, but for me who lives in Indonesia, this actually the first time I heard about her. But she has an advantage here, because she already knew and worked with the director.

Jessica Lucas might be known from her role in "Melrose Place" series, but I first noticed her in JJ Abram's 2008 'revolutionary' movie "Cloverfield" (she's one of the four leading actors, and as I remember, she's the only one who succeed to get away from Manhattan by helicopter before it was bombed).

Mary Elizabeth Winstead
Mary Elizabeth Winstead might be the most known of them all, and this might be advantageous for her. She starred in "Sky High", became Bruce Willis' daughter in "Live Free or Die Hard", one of the ensemble cast in biopic "Bobby", and last year she appeared as Ramona in "Scott Pilgrim vs the World".

Last but not least is Cobie Smulders. For those who often see her on TV, yes, she's the star of "How I Met Your Mother", played a Canadian living in the US, Robin Scherbatsky. She hasn't starred in any major movies yet, and if she got picked up for "The Avengers", this will be her biggest hit.

About "The Avengers" itself, the cast of previous Marvel heroes movies will gather here. Robert Downey Jr will play Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and Mark Ruffalo as Hulk (who replaced Edward Norton).

Chris Hemsworth talks "The Avengers" and Jeremy Renner's cameo in "Thor"

The star of upcoming "Thor" movie, Chris Hemsworth, attended the Sundance Film Festival and talked a bit about "The Avengers" script in which he will star next year, and about Jeremy Renner's cameo appearance in "Thor".

"Everything about the story and the comic books is huge. You have these huge, big superheroes and huge, big egos crammed into one small space," he said. "Reading the script, it was massive. Everything about it was like, 'Oh my god.' I said to Joss, I said, 'I don't know how you're going to shoot this thing [laughs], but I'm excited to be onboard and let's give it a go."

Chris admitted that he has no idea about how is Jeremy's appearance in "Thor" because they actually didn't meet on the set.

"I don't know if he's in 'Thor.' I haven't seen the cut yet, and he wasn't on set when I was there, but he may be in the final one. He's certainly in 'The Avengers.' I had a chat with him at Comic-Con and he's as excited as the rest of us."

Catch Chris in "Thor" which will be released in May 6, 2011 in USA, and April 28 for South East Asia region, Malaysia and Singapore. I do hope Indonesia will have the same release date as those two countries! Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Kat Dennings, Stellan Skarsgaard, Idris Elba, and Ray Stevenson will also star in Kenneth Branagh directed movie.
