Amy Adams is Lois Lane in "Superman: Man of Steel"

I couldn't do anything but squee-ing after hearing this news: yet another awesome actress to join Henry Cavill, Diane Lane, and Kevin Costner! America's sweetheart and two-times Academy Award nominee actress Amy Adams is the new Lois Lane in the Zack Snyder's reboot "Superman: Man of Steel", LA Times reported.

"There was a big, giant search for Lois," Snyder says. "For us it was a big thing and obviously a really important role. We did a lot of auditioning but we had this meeting with Amy Adams and after that I just felt she was perfect for it."

If the previous rumors about Lois Lane casting calls were true, then Adams has officially beaten out other thight competitors with the likes of Kristen Stewart (seriously -- I can't imagine this girl becoming Lois Lane!), Jessica Biel, Malin Akerman, Dianna Agron, Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried, Mila Kunis, and Natalie Portman. Adams is also the successor of Kate Bosworth who previously played the role in 2006's "Superman Returns" along side Brandon Routh.

What I like about Adams is that she has rather broader fans and audience. She stole the teenagers' heart with her performance in Disney's "Enchanted", but caught the critics attention in "The Fighter" as well. Up next, you can see her on indie drama "On The Road" where she stars alongside Kristen Stewart, Garrett Hedlund, and Sam Riley and "The Muppets".

Michael Shannon and Edgar Ramirez contending for "Superman: Man of Steel" main villain

After Henry Cavill, Diane Lane, and Kevin Costner have officially won to play main protagonist roles, two talented actors Michael Shannon and Edgar Ramirez are reportedly contending to snatch the main villain role in Zack Snyder's "Superman: Man of Steel". The rumor about getting Viggo Mortensen to play General Zod is apparently not true, since he has signed in to play Eric the Huntsman in "Snow White and the Huntsman" with Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron.

Michael Shannon is mostly known from his recurring role as Nelson Van Alden in HBO's Golden Globe winning series "Boardwalk Empire". Even so, he's been grazing the big screen since 1992 starting from TV movies. His famous works to mention are "Vanilla Sky", "The Photographer", "8 Mile", "Revolutionary Road", and "The Runaways". He is now filming for drama feature "The Iceman", along with James Franco, Benicio del Toro, and Elias Koteas.

Edgar Ramirez also has started his career in the 90s, starring in Spanish television movies and series. Hollywood and movie mania began to know him as he starred in Tony Scott's action flick "Domino" where Keira Knightley and Mickey Rourke also played. He also gained more attention as he got supporting roles in more action hits "The Bourne Ultimatum" and "Vantage Point". He is now currently filming "Clash of the Titans" sequel, "Wrath of the Titans", playing the God of war Ares.

I think Shannon and Ramirez are great candidates to play Superman's main villain, judging from their resumes. It is still unofficial whether General Zod will be the villain, but knowing the facts that this Snyder's version is a 'reboot', then it's still possible. "Superman: Man Of Steel" will come to theatres in 2012.

Breaking: Kevin Costner is Jonathan Kent in "Man of Steel"

After previously chosing Diane Lane to be Martha Kent, Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures confirmed that Kevin Costner is set to play her beloved husband and Superman's adoptive father, Jonathan Kent! Zack Snyder, the director of "Superman: Man Of Steel", said, "Jonathan Kent is the only father figure Clark has ever had, the man who was there to help Clark understand what he was meant to do in the world as Superman. Kevin will be able to communicate the quiet strength of this rural American man who raised the greatest super hero of all time."

Costner and Lane will play the loving parents of Clark Kent/Superman, which will be played by British actor Henry Cavill. Since the upcoming "Superman: Man of Steel" is a reboot, so I don't think it will be related to the latest Bryan Singer's "Superman Returns" starring Brandon Routh. It will likely tell the very beginning of Superman (just like the Christopher Reeve version ones), and rumor has it that General Zod will be back in this project. As for Clark Kent's eternal love Lois Lane, the studio is still searching the right actress to play it.

"Superman: Man Of Still" is scheduled to be released in 2012.

Diane Lane is Martha Kent in "Superman" reboot

Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures finally announced that Oscar-nominated Diane Lane has signed up to play Martha Kent, the only known mother of Clark Kent in the upcoming "Superman" reboot.

"This was a very important piece of casting for me because Martha Kent is the woman whose values helped shape the man we know as Superman. We are thrilled to have Diane in the role because she can convey the wisdom and the wonder of a woman whose son has powers beyond her imagination," said director Zack Snyder.

The "Superman" reboot is scheduled to be released in December 2012, starring British actor Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel.

Viggo Mortensen is eyed to play General Zod in "Superman" reboot

The pre-production of "Superman" reboot (or temporarily known as "Man of Steel") is on the run. After announcing that British hunk Henry Cavill will be the new Clark Kent/ Superman, the studio is now searching for who's going to play the ultimate villain, General Zod.

This is not an official news, but ever since The Hollywood Reporter considered Viggo Mortensen to play Zod, seems like everyone has finally put an eye on him. The character Zod comes from the same planet as Superman, the Krypton, and made an appearance in 1980's "Superman II", played by Terence Stamp back then. Even so, Zack Snyder, director of the reboot, previously denied that Zod being the main villain was just a rumor, but many speculations said that he did so for a 'damage control'.

Mortensen famously portrayed Aragorn in the most successful epic-colossal movie "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, and is reportedly set to play The Huntsman in upcoming "Snow White and the Huntsman". He also had a leading role in "History of Violence", and generally his movie career has been strong as ever.

Besides Mortensen, Kevin Costner was reportedly linked earlier to play Jonathan Kent, the adoptive father of Clark Kent, and the studio had cast Alice Eve, Rosamund Pike, and Diane Kruger for a female lead in the movie — in which they described as 'not Lois Lane'. Many said that they were screened to play Ursa, Zod's right-hand woman, but Pike's representative said she wasn't linked to this project.

Well, this is the kind of news from a movie that is still in pre-production phase, everything is merely speculation. But it's so interesting to follow that I can't help myself to write about it! Check back for more updates of the "Superman" reboot!

Quick Fix: there's a chance for Robin, Lois Lane, and Cobie Smulders!

Today's quick fix is still related to the upcoming superhero movie projects! I think I've been a bit obsessed with it, but nothing more exciting than these news. So here we go!

Will "The Dark Knight Rises" bring on Robin?
As you have found out at the start of February, "Inception" star Joseph Gordon-Levitt is joining "The Dark Knight Rises" even though his role is still 'kept in secret'. People speculated that Joseph will play The Riddler (which previously was played by Jim Carrey), since they think a Catwoman (Anne Hathaway) and Bane (Tom Hardy) won't be 'enough' to fight the Batman. But then the fans started to gear up that Joseph might be portraying Batman's long time sidekick, Robin, even though they also argued that he's somehow too old to play this part. Afterall, Christian Bale himself has stated that if they included Robin in this movie then he'll likely 'walk away' from this project. This news hasn't been confirmed yet, but I think it's a really cool thing if Robin finally brought up. The last time we saw Robin in Batman movies was in "Batman & Robin", which was deemed as the 'worst' Batman movie ever, despite George Clooney playing the leading man.

Lois Lane will still be featured in "Man of Steel"
Superman's one true love Lois Lane will likely still be featured in the "Man of Steel" reboot, as news are gearing up that one of Superman's lady villain from the Krypton, Ursa, will make a come-back. So here's what fuzzing around these days: Diane Kruger, Alice Eve, and Rosamund Pike were the front-runners to play a leading female role in "Man of Steel", which is NOT Lois Lane. But I don't think they will star as Lana Lang either, because it just simply doesn't fit. So all Lois & Clark fans (including me) started to get disappointed, because our very own OTP won't be on the movie. Thankfully, there was a bit relief yesterday, that WB Pictures were actually casting those actresses to play Ursa. She is Zod's right-hand woman from both the original 1978 Superman and 1981's Superman II, which was played by British actress Sarah Douglas opposite Terence Stamp's General Zod. Another great news is that Lois Lane is definitely in the current draft of the script and will have a major part in this Zack Snyder-directed movie.

One step closer for Cobie Smulders to join "The Avengers"
My favorite cast from "How I Met Your Mother", Cobie Smulders, is reportedly this close to play Maria Hill, the ruthless interim executive director of SHIELD, who was not above blackmailing and bullying superheros to get her way. She was eventually supplanted in that top job by Tony Stark aka Iron Man. As with all Marvel movies, the deal comes with a pile of options for appearances in future superhero films. So it's pretty far from a speculation that she will play Jane van Dyke, but still, this character has a pretty big impact in "The Avengers" movie. The production will start filming in April, and the movie will be released in May 4, 2012 distributed by Disney.

Introducing the new Superman, Henry Cavill!

Finally after months and months of speculation on who's going to replace Brandon Routh as the man of steel in the upcoming Zack Snyder's reboot, Warner Bros Pictures and Legendary Pictures officially announced that British actor Henry Cavill got the role, as reported by Movie Web!

"In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time, and I am honored to be a part of his return to the big screen. I also join Warner Bros., Legendary and the producers in saying how excited we are about the casting of Henry. He is the perfect choice to don the cape and S shield," said Snyder.

What's more exciting about this movie is that Christopher Nolan (yes, that director of "The Dark Knight" and "Inception" who didn't get the cut in this year's Oscars as Best Director) will take part as one of the producers along with Charles Roven, Emma Thomas, and Snyder's spouse Deborah Snyder. David S. Goyer is the screenwriter, based on a story by himself and Nolan!

Cavill is famous of his role in television series "The Tudors" as Charles Brandon. He also starred in "Tristan + Isolde", Woody Allen's "Whatever Works", and "Stardust". His upcoming movie is "The Cold Light of Day" and "Immortals", to be released this year. Cavill beat other Superman candidates and you might recognize these famous names; Matthew Goode (who previously worked with Snyder in "Watchmen"), Matthew Bomer (star of television series "White Collar"), Armie Hammer (that "Social Network" hottie twins), Joe Manganiello (the werewolf of "True Blood"), and Colin O'Donaghue (who currently starred in "The Rite" with Anthony Hopkins).

The reboot of Superman, which will be titled "Man of Steel", is out 2012.
