Watch: First 6-minutes of "Sucker Punch"

We all know that "Sucker Punch" has been receiving dissenting critics over the past days -- but even the haters did agree that Zack Snyder put a really great effort in visualizing the 'artwork'. Warner Bros. gave us a special sneak peek of the first 6-minutes of the movie, which is AWESOME.

Exclusive - Six Minutes of Sucker Punch. Watch more top selected videos about: Clips, Preview

Started with a Warner Bros. logo covered in a stage courtain, it all opened and we'll see a broadway-set like on stage room. And then we finally get to see the leading lady Baby Doll (played by Australian actress Emily Browning) sitting on her bedroom looking very worried while the outside is raining. The background music, is a remake of Eurythmics' 1983 hit "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" sang by Browning herself. I like Browning's version much much more since it stimulates the chills and thrills.

Baby Doll runs to the other room only to find her mother already covered in white sheet -- she's dead. Her sister cried and fell to her knees, while their father -- presumably antagonist, makes a devilish smile while Baby Doll seems to be worried and afraid. After the funeral, their father finally gets the last testament of his deceased wife, reading it while the writing "possession of two daughters" is focused. He then goes to molest his daughters, Baby Doll's sister is hiding in a closet while Baby Doll makes a way out -- to take a gun.

Baby Doll comes back with the gun when her father breaks the closet's door. She tries to shoot but it misses and hits the lamp, which apparently hurts her sister herself. Her father calls the police, and eventually Baby Doll is taken to Lennox House, special place (read: jail) for people who (are allegedly) have mental illness. There Baby Doll's journey to escape with her sexay friends begin.

Despite the many many negative reviews I am still eager to watch this movie -- I've been an avid fan of Zack Snyder since "300"! Hopefully it will arrive soon here in Indonesia.

Can't get enough of "Sucker Punch"!

For those who have read this blog from the start might notice that I'm looking forward to this movie, "Sucker Punch", very much! I've been admiring Zack Snyder since "300", and not questioning about his mastery in graphics and special effects ever since. As for "Sucker Punch", I don't know if this movie will be substantial but I am so attracted to its super cool trailer.

Now the character posters have been released, and they look awesome. It's actually a bit old news, but I post it in case you haven't seen them. Mark your calendar for Snyder's masterpiece, March 25, starring Emily Browning, Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone, Jamie Chung, and Vanessa Hudgens!

New Kick-ass "Sucker Punch" Poster

Even though moviegoers already 'doubt' the storyline and screenplay of this movie (including me), we're all inevitable 'blown away' by the glorious graphics, action, and special effects of the trailer. Zack Snyder is truly a revolutionary director, and one of my most favorites.

In my opinion, Zack never put aside the substantial values of his movies, because I personally enjoyed "Watchmen" and "300" (I watched "Sin City" as well but I didn't get 'the feel' like I did in the previous two movies). He's been bringing 'realism' through his movies, the one's that audience could relate to and understand because it makes us think "Well if I were them (the characters), I'll do the same way).

"Sucker Punch" tells a story about a young girl who's institutionalized by her wicked stepfather. Retreating to an alternative reality as a coping strategy, she envisions a plan which will help her escape from the facility. It will hit theatre in March 25, 2011 with no 3D. Emily Browning, Jenna Malone, Abbie Cornish, and Vanessa Hudgens star as the ass-kicking girls.
