Neill Blomkamp brings alien back to the earth in his upcoming project "Elysium"

Following the success of epic science fiction "District 9" which was a gore-but-compelling feature, Neill Blomkamp, the genius behind the movie, is officially signed in for another alien sci-fi flick "Elysium". The award winning director has been appointed by Sony Pictures to 'handle' this mankind vs aliens kind of movie.

However, this movie is still in pre-production so I can't give you any further information. One thing for sure, the leading actors for "Elysium" will likely be 'star-studded'. Matt Damon has officially signed for the lead role, while Sharlto Copley, will reunite with Blomkamp in this movie as he landed the main actor for "District 9" before. Recently, Brazilian actor Wagner Moura also signed in, who is set to play a "powerful villain who has crazy sense of humor". Jodie Foster is being approached to star in this movie as well.

"Elysium" will come to theatres in March 8, 2013 as Sony Pictures announced. I don't know about Blomkamp's personal fascination to alien/sci-fi movie ideas, but looking back at "District 9", I'm just so optimistic about this movie. Blomkamp is a great director/writer, he could bring a 'heart' upon the blazing special effects and action. Hopefully he will receive more recognitions from his amazing works!

Here comes the March: the movies you'd love to watch (Part 1)

I'm actually still ranting that there's still no further negotiations between Indonesian government and MPA about the tax problem — which means there's no possibility for me (and other Indonesian movie freak) to watch foreign movies next month. I have no capability in making the tax rules (I'm just a movie blogger, that's all), but I'm hoping MPA will finally agree to pay the taxes.

But I won't stop writing for this blog, so I'm going to give you some previews of movies coming out next month! February is almost over, and unfortunately not much going on in it. "I Am Number Four" and "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never" might be the biggest blasts, but according to many writings I've read, we haven't found the 'it movie' of 2011 so far.

Here are the movies that you might want to watch in March, most of them with the wide/ international release. Inside this part one of the list, you'll find Matt Damon's action thriller "The Adjustment Bureau", the modern version of "Beauty and the Beast", "Beastly", Johnny Depp's transformation into an ugly chameleon in "Rango", and all-star cast comedy "Take Me Home Tonight".

Quick Fix: Matt Damon & Ben Affleck will be 'reunited', Julia Robet is the Evil Queen, and Selena Gomes wonders "13 Reasons Why"

Selena Gomez is the leading lady of 13 Reasons Why
The Justin Bieber's real girl (oops, sorry Beliebers... it's a fact) is reportedly cast as the lead role in Jay Asher's novel-adapted movie 13 Reasons Why, according to Deadline. This production has been picked up by Universal Pictures. Below is a little description about the movie:

Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers several cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker--his classmate and crush--who committed suicide two weeks earlier. On tape, Hannah explains that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he'll find out how he made the list. Through Hannah and Clay's dual narratives, debut author Jay Asher weaves an intricate and heartrending story of confusion and desperation that will deeply affect teen readers.

Julia Roberts is an Evil Queen in The Brothers Grimm: Snow White
Finally it is confirmed that Julia Roberts will star in The Brothers Grimm: Snow White, and is going to film the project this spring. This movie is to be released in June 29, 2012, and is directed and produced by Tarsem Singh and Brett Ratner respectively. It means there will be likely three Snow White movies in 2012 if the other projects are on their way as well, Disney's Snow White and the Seven and Universal's Snow White and the Huntsman.

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck reunite in Hit Somebody
The two best friends will be starring in Kevin Smith's last project as a director, Hit Somebody, as Smith announced at the Sundance. "They're all coming back. It's like The Muppet Movie. You've got your core cast, and then a zillion cameos. It's going to sum everything up. We'll have a team in Boston, and who do you think I'm going to call? Both of those dudes," said Smith. He also said that Bruce Willing might will star as a cameo in the movie.
