Blake Lively is the new Carrie Bradshaw?

Seems like 2011 is another shining year for the lovely Blake Lively! Earlier this year, she was voted by Ask Men as the Most Desireable Woman, and we all know that she's one of the most fashionable woman in this world. Now she is currently in talks to star as Sex and the City's leading lady Carrie Bradshaw. Wait... what?

It's not that she's going to replace Sarah Jessica Parker. Michael Patrick King, the creator of Sex and the City television series is rumored to make two new movie installments for Sex and the City (despite the harshly criticized 2010 movie — which is now in the run to bring Worst Movie in this year's Razzie Awards) and is interested to bring Blake Lively in as the younger version of Carrie Bradshaw.

This rumor came up after the original book writer Candace Bushnell published a spin-off called The Carrie Diaries, about Carrie's first months in NYC. "The prequel is about breathing new life into the story and exploring Carrie's first few months in NYC and the beginning of her relationship with an older man," an insider told Grazia mag. This means, Carrie has not met her friends, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte, making her the center of the attention.

I think Blake is perfectly fit for the Bradshaw role, since she's already the 'it girl' of Manhattan in Gossip Girl series. For those who wants to see her outside the glamor and fabulosity of designer's clothes, check her out in this summer's Green Lantern where she stars as Ryan Reynold's love interest, Carol Ferris.
